At Ovarium Conception, we believe that fertility devices should be accessible to everyone. That's why we started our journey to create our high-quality conception cups available without a prescription or doctor's visit.
Before using Ovarium Conception cups, it is recommended that you sanitize it by boiling it in water for 3 minutes. Do not let the Ovarium cup touch the bottom of the pan because it may cause the silicone to melt- try holding it in the boiling water with a whisk or tongs. Once it is dry and cooled, your Ovarium is ready to use!
Before using your Ovarium Conception cup to conceive, you should practice inserting it and removing it following the instructions below. There is a bit of a learning curve, so we highly recommend you become comfortable with the cup before you are ovulating and NEED to use it.
Starting with the small/medium cup, practice wearing Ovarium doing your normal daily activities like walking, sitting and standing. If the small/medium cup slides out, or does not sit snugly inside your vagina, try switching to the included medium/large cup.
Deciding which cup you feel most comfortable in and practicing with it is very important.
Ovulation tends to occur about halfway through your menstrual cycle. So it’s best to start using the included Ovarium LH ovulation test strips a few days before your midway point. (If your cycle is 28 days, for instance, take your first test on day 10 or 11.
You might need to test for a few days to detect a surge in LH, which is totally normal. It is best to test first thing in the morning when you wake up, when your urine will be most concentrated. You may also test twice a day if you prefer, but avoid drinking large amounts of fluid or urinating for 1-2 hours before you test.
Once the test indicates that your LH levels are on the upswing, start having sex that day. Have sex for two to three days afterwards too, since ovulation can occur within 36 hours of LH levels rising.
After intercourse, try not to move too much to keep sperm in your vagina. Roll over on to your back (if you are not already doing so) and spread your legs.
Squeeze the rim of the cup to form an "8" shape using your dominant hand. Using your non-dominant hand, gently spread your vaginal lips apart. Keeping the rim of the cup facing away from you, gently insert the cup into your vagina and push it back as far as it will go. Then gently push the top rim of the cup to secure it in place behind your public bone.
You may now wear your Ovarium conception cup for up to 12 hours, preventing sperm from leaking out of your vagina. You may experience some mild cramping as your body gets used to the cup inside you. You may use Ovarium after every time you have sex during your ovulation window.
You do not need to remove the cup to urinate or have a bowel movement.
You may remove Ovarium whenever you wish, but Ovarium should not be left in more than 12 hours at a time. We recommend leaving Ovarium in for a minimum of 4 hours, in order to increase chances of conception. This keeps a maximum amount of sperm up against your cervix for a longer period of time than without Ovarium.
When you are ready to remove Ovarium, wash your hands. While standing or squatting, gently insert your thumb and pointer finger inside your vagina and "pinch" the rim of cup. Gently and slowly pull Ovarium down and out of your vagina.
If you are having trouble, you can bear down like you are trying to have a bowel movement. This can help push Ovarium down in your vaginal canal where it may be easier to pinch with your fingers. If you are having trouble, take a break for 10-15 minutes to relax (make a cup of tea for example), then try again.
After removing Ovarium, wash it in warm water and gentle non-toxic soap. You can also boil it again using the instructions above to fully sanitize it. Once dry, store Ovarium conception cups in the drawstring bag we provide.
Two days after your scheduled period date, if menstruation has not occurred, use one of the included Ovarium HCG pregnancy test strips. If you see two lines on the test strip, CONGRATULATIONS!!! If you do not see two lines, try Ovarium again during your next ovulation.
